Who We Are

St. Mark’s is a church on the greenbelt in the heart of Austin. Our vision is to be a community of transformational belonging in Christ.

We believe the following about what we are called to do and to think and to be together:

We believe in caring for the entire journey of one’s soul, from birth to death, from infancy to old age, with the opportunity to re-start that journey at any point along the way as many times as one needs.

~

We believe the best way to sustain and deepen our belonging is by eating together. We cherish bread and wine above all, but we love breakfast tacos too.

~

We believe the church is at its best at its most diverse; therefore, we assume differences are a gift rather than a threat to our life together. ALL are welcome here.

~

We believe Christ is present to us at the heart of our worship in the sacraments and also on the edge of our community in the stranger, vulnerable, and marginalized.

~

We believe in being a church for people from all different faith backgrounds and none. We strive to be a safe place for the wounded and wandering, for the suspicious and the searching. Come as you are.

~

We believe in being a church for people who don’t go to church here. We seek for our people, property, building, and budget to be contributing to the common good of our community.
